Tuesday's total lunar eclipse is the first of a series of four "Blood Moons" in 2014. Watch live video coverage here
A spectacular lunar eclipse is set to take place on Tuesday morning as the moon passes into Earth's shadow at approximately 6am GMT (2am EDT / 11pm PDT / 11.30am IST / 4pm EST). Due to its timing, the eclipse is only visible from North America. Here is the live video stream, courtesy of Slooh, so you can watch the celestial event wherever you are.
The live image stream is hosted by Slooh Observatory Director Paul Cox and Slooh astronomer Bob Berman, who will be reporting live from Prescott Observatory in Prescott, Arizona. Viewers can ask questions during the show by using hashtag #Slooh.
A wide range of experts will join Slooh during five full hours of programming, including astronomy luminary and bestselling author Timothy Ferris, author of "Seeing in the Dark", and Professor Emeritus of Astronomy at UC Berkeley, and documentary filmmaker Duncan Copp, producer of the award winning film, "In the Shadow of the Moon".
