Supermoon to Fill the Skies Above Livingston Tonight Patch Livingston, NJ --

Will the skies cooperate over Livingston so we can all witness the Supermoon tonight?

The answer is more than likely. The weather forecast is calling for clear skies for the overnight hours tonight and early Sunday morning with temperatures hovering around 64 degrees.

For the first time since May 2012, a Supermoon, also known as a Strawberry Moon, return to our skies. The moon on Saturday and Sunday will be up to 14-percent larger and 30-percent brighter than the typical full moon, according to NASA.

Tonight, the moon is at perigee — its closest approach to Earth. The moon will be about 221,824 miles away from us, as compared to 252,581 miles away when the moon is at its furthest distance from the earth (apogee), according to the NASA website.

So what's the best time to see this Supermoon? NASA's website says the moon will reach its closest distance to the earth at exactly 7:32 a.m. EDT (4:32 a.m. PDT) on Sunday.

But you don't have to get up that early to catch the best show. Both Saturday and Sunday will offer a good opportunity to see the Supermoon.

The next time the moon will be this close to the earth will be Aug. 10, 2014.

Happy skywatching!
