Relativity and EuropaCorp have announced that the Paul Walker action movie “Brick Mansions” will be released on April 25 and that they’ll make a donation, including the cost of the film’s world premiere, to the “Fast and Furious” star’s charity Reach Out WorldWide to honor Walker’s memory and celebrate his life.
“Brick Mansions” inherits the release date vacated by “Earth to Echo,” which Relativity announced it will now release on July 2.
Reach Out WorldWide is a network of committed professionals with first responder skill-sets that “operates on the philosophy that by making a difference in just one person’s life, the world has been changed for the better.”

“Brick Mansions” is an English-language reboot of the 2004 French film “District B13″ that was produced by EuropaCorp and Transfilm International, and is an official French-Canadian co-production.
The film is part of the co-financing and co-production relationship between EuropaCorp and Relativity, which previously collaborated on Besson’s “The Family” and McG’s “3 Days to Kill,” which hits theaters on Feb.21.^“Brick Mansions” marks the directorial debut of renowned editor Camille Delamarre, whose recent editing credits include “Taken 2″ and “Transporter 3.” David Belle (who co-founded the Parkour movement) reprises his role from the original French film, while RZA co-stars alongside Walker.

“Brick Mansions” is set in a dystopian Detroit, where abandoned brick mansions left from better times now house only the most dangerous criminals. Unable to control the crime, the police constructed a colossal containment wall around this area to protect the rest of the city. For undercover cop Damien Collier (Walker) every day is a battle against corruption. For Lino (Belle), every day is a fight to live an honest life. Their paths never should have crossed, but when drug kingpin, Tremaine (RZA) kidnaps Lino’s girlfriend, Damien reluctantly accepts the help of the fearless ex-convict, and together they must stop a sinister plot to devastate the entire city.
In “Earth to Echo,” a trio of inseparable friends watch as their neighborhood is destroyed by a highway construction project that is forcing their families to move away. But just two days before they must part ways, the boys find a cryptic signal has infected their phones. Convinced something bigger is going on and looking for one final adventure together, they set off to trace the messages to their source and discover something beyond their wildest imaginations: hiding in the darkness is a mysterious being, stranded on Earth, and wanted by the government. This launches the boys on an epic journey full of danger and wonder, one that will test the limits of their friendship and change all of their lives forever.
