Earth Advantage (EA), a nonprofit focused on advancing the creation of better buildings, held its second annual Green Home Builder Award ceremony last week at McMenamins Edgefield. Every year, Earth Advantage recognizes builders who certify to their suite of high performance standards across Oregon and Southern Washington.

Earth Advantage Residential provides a suite of home certifications to advance high performance or ‘green’ building. The certifications include Earth Advantage Home Certification, LEED® for Homes, ENERGY STAR, EA Net Zero, Passive House and now EA Remodel. This year, awards were presented in six categories: new builder of the year, low-income builder, volume builder, custom builder, LEED for Homes builder and hall of fame builder. The awards were presented at the annual Golf Invitational, now in its eleventh year, Thursday, September 12. The distinguished judges for this year’s awards were Vinh Mason, green building policy coordinator with the City of Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, Tracey Hicks, co-owner of Dwell Realty and Jonathan Cohen, principal and chief engineer with Imagine Energy, LLC.

New Builder of the Year - Four Square Design/Build
Low Income Builder - LMC Construction
Volume Builder - Noyes Development
LEED for Homes Builder - Jovick Construction
Custom Builder - Woodcraft Building
Hall of Fame Builder - Stone Bridge Homes NW
